Heads up: this strategy was originally created for the US stock market. We applied the exact same logic to Indian stocks & indices and the backtest completed successfully — every result below is on Indian market data.

Why 1.0/5? (stars grade the EDGE — per-trade expectancy, consistency, drawdown — not the headline return)

  • Negative expectancy: -0.24R per trade across 28,458 trades
  • Payoff 0.60 — the average winner is SMALLER than the average loser
  • 9 of 9 tested years were negative (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021) — the edge is regime-dependent

Verdict

Auto-backtested. AI-decoded: Box Theory: previous-day high/low box with intraday 15-min retest and reversal confirmation via a single candlestick (John Wick) pattern. We isolated the one mechanical claim — a day-of-week bias where a prior session's level is expected to be 'revisited'/swept — and traded it short across 159 large/mid-caps with real costs: 28,458 trades, win 49%, expectancy -0.24R/trade (avg -0.24%/trade).

The result is a high win-rate that still loses money after costs — a negative-skew mirage: small targets, larger adverse moves. A directional lean can be statistically real yet still fail to pay once you attach a target, a stop and costs.

Mechanically decoded and scored from the metrics. Flagged for human review.

It took me 26 years to learn what I'm going to show you here in the next 60 seconds. This strategy is responsible for some of my biggest gains. In fact, it's so consistent, I use it every single day to pull thousands of dollars out of the futures market. It's called the box theory, and here's how it works. [music] Every day, the first thing I do is I box in the previous day's high price with the previous day's low price. Then I'll draw a line right through the center of that box. [music] This lets me know who's in control of the market. Now, right from there, I'll immediately move to a intraday 15-minute chart. And as the price of the asset that I'm trading is at or near the top of that box, I'm only looking to do one thing. And that one thing is sell. Because that lets me know at the top of the box that sellers are in control of the chart. Inverse relationship is if I get up and the price of the asset is at or near the bottom of that box, I'm only looking to do one thing from that point. I'm looking to buy. Because that's the area where buyers are in control. And if the asset I'm trading is anywhere near the center of the top of the box or the bottom of the box or that line that we drew in the middle, I'm not going to do anything at all. Now, after that, all I need to do is wait to see if the asset I'm trading challenges the top of the box or the bottom of the box. Let's say, for example, it challenges the top of the box. [music] The top of the box represents the most strongest and influential seller in the market. So, chances are it will reverse there, just like it did the day before. Now, to make sure that it's not a trap, what we need to look for is just one candlestick, the John Wick. If this candlestick appears, we sell this and our target becomes the bottom of the box. Now, all you got to do from here is just keep watching this video over and over again until you get it.
