This man, he learned how to trade from a the $2,000 account. Where is that account sitting at right now? >> It's around 250 right now. What's your average look like? >> Around 30 to 50 depending on the months, at least over the last 6 or 7 months that I've been tracking it in that way. Talk to me about your A+ setup. Talk to me about your strategy. [music] I started working on just weekly levels. There's not many levels on there. There's not even many indicators on there. It's just price action. Was your missus always supportive of you being a trader? She was like, "Okay." What is going on everybody? So, we have Mr. Jonathan, Mr. JTQ, my J. Hey, we [laughter] did an interview once. At that stage, I think you were you took your trading account from like 2,000 to 112,000. So, my brother talk to me about it. Hey, so really quickly, quick introduction to everybody. Jonathan, it's been a while, bro. You started trading, it's been a while, isn't it? Yeah. Anyway, really quickly, quick summarize. I will talk about all of this. There was a time that JTQ, Mr. JTQ, I'll call him JTQ. JTQ he sent me a message. I remember I was in the I was in the shopping center. I was in I was doing some grocery shopping. Um and I I was absolutely hating my life because now I'm walking around with my wife because she's doing that. Anyway, I was not I was not enjoying that. And Mr. Jonathan sent me a message. It was like, you know, the perfect time, perfect everything was perfect. So, he sent me a message. I read the message. And put my headphone on. And I left him a long ass message. I'm like, "Bro, what the [ __ ] do you mean you're going to quit? No, you never supposed to love a stubborn heart. This is it. This means you got one more freaking day." Anyway, and he didn't quit. And before we press record, we were talking about this that he just moved into the new house, renovated the whole thing. Took a over a year and look at the [ __ ] setup, bro. I love it. And we were talking about that this nearly didn't happen. If he would have quit, this nearly didn't happen. My brother that $2,000 account, where is that sitting at if you have to I'm pretty sure you have taken a lot of money out of the account. But if you have to think about it, where is that account sitting at right now? Yeah, it's around 250 right now. So. 2,000 to 250. By By the way, I just want to make sure that everybody understand this. This didn't happen overnight. This happened How long How long ago was this, my brother? Yeah, started in, you know, 2019, 2020, but didn't get going with Smash and K Capitals until I think it was like 2022, 2021, somewhere around there. It was in the early stages for sure, and then joined the mastermind, and then the the mentorship after that, and that's when things really took off. So. Hey, let's freaking go, bro. Let's freaking go. So, so look, he joined my mentorship. But I tell people this all the time. It's not about when you start trading. No, it's about when you start trading the right way. When you start doing everything that you are meant to do or you're required to do, that's when it's day one for you. It's not day one when you first place your trade. But, you know what? Bro, from the point where you started this 2,000 I know you left your job. But, it's been 13, 14 months now. You're doing this full-time. And the what was the motive And the motivation to leave your job was the kids. You wanted to spend more time with the kids, wasn't it? >> Yeah, absolutely. It's always been about the kids for me. I just remember when I first started working in my career, I would be driving, you know, 3 hours a day, you know, commuting back and forth. And I get home, it's like all I have is like maybe 30 minutes to an hour with the kids. And that always ate at me. You know, those times that I spent even just commuting, that could have been spent time spent with the kids. So. I've always wanted to, you know, pursue that freedom of time just to be with my kids. I think I shared it with you guys before or with you before that a lot of good fathers are very good providers, right? And so, they're able to make money, provide for the family, put food on the table, you know, roof over your head, but not many fathers because of that gets also be present. And I grew up without a father in my life. And you know, he he's here now after my mom and my dad divorced when I was like 9 months. So, didn't have too much father figure in my life early on. And so, I knew for sure that I wanted to be there for my kids. And staying at a 9-to-5 wasn't going to do it. So, that was my motivation there. [ __ ] Right? [clears throat] Bro, cuz it's it's a lot of people talk about this. They're like, "Oh, I want to I want to make money because of my kids." But they generally they're they're comfortable. Like I'm pretty sure you were making decent money at your job before. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Six-figure healthcare job. It was great. Meaningful job for sure. Um JTQ, by the way, JTQ was a Dr. JTQ, wasn't it? Yeah, that's right. He's a Dr. JTQ who's making enough money. But the thing was he was like, "Man, I'm making money, but at the cost of what? I do not get to see my kids. I don't get to spend time with my kids. Is this the cost that I have to pay?" And what happened? He took a bet on himself. He went like, "You know what, man? I'm going to quit my job and do this full-time." But the point where he did quit his job, do you reckon he was making six figures a year? No. He was making way less, but it's again, it was a bet. If you're not going to take a bet on yourself, bro, who's going to take a bet? And that's And that's literally I tell tell my wife all the time. I'm like, "Babe, you know, one thing that really scares me is once when my kids grow up they and if somebody ask them, "Who's your like who do you want to be like when you grow up?" If my kid ever even say say something like, "I want to be like this [ __ ] celebrity." I'm like, "It'll break my heart." It'll break my heart because I just want to be the celebrity. I want to be the Superman for my kids. And you know not going to be a Superman if the kids hardly know you. You see what I'm saying? Um I had I was talking to somebody, bro. Jonathan, I was talking to somebody other day. And this guy was talking about He's like, "Man, I got kids. It's easier for you because you don't have kids." I just I'm like, "Bro, there's some people who get rich because they got kids. Some people stay poor because they have kids." Um you got to choose which side you want to be at. Bro, how did you even get started in trading? Tell me about the first time that you even found out there's a thing called trading out there. Yeah, I mean, I think it was early you know, 2014 or 2015, 2016, sometime around there was when crypto was getting going. I know I was never in it. I was, you know, in deep into my education at that point, but my brother was into crypto. And that kind of exposed me to like all these different things about investing and something like that and just putting your money elsewhere other than, you know, in your bank account, right? Um so, it was happening around there. But then once I kind of got into my career and I was having a little bit more of a saving, and then my wife and I started planning for kids, that's when it really struck me like, "Oh, crap, I really need to think about money a little bit more." Um money was something I always kind of avoided just cuz growing up I didn't have anything. And it was it was kind of like taboo to think so much about money and like even just the thought of being rich, that wasn't something that was easy to come by, right? Most people think money's hard to make, and I was definitely in that category for the longest time. Um but then when we started planning to have a family, I'm like, "Shit, well, growing up I didn't have anything. I don't want my kids to go through that either." So, that's when I kind of got everything going. And then when COVID came around, that's, you know, things kind of slowed down, and I was really forced to like, "Okay, I need to figure something out." And so, trading came up, different things came up. My friend was into trading, so he introduced me to I think it was ThinkOrSwim, right? And then I got on there, I put some money on there, and blew it all up right away. I'm like, "Oh, crap, I need to really figure this out." So, then um then I started just imagining, you know, what can trading actually do for me, right? Is this something that's going to be something I'll do on the side, or is this something that can actually change my life? And then I started seeing people post about it, and that that got me going into it. Obviously, it was a big struggle early on, and I'm so obviously grateful. I always take take a moment to just share my gratitude for you and V, your brother, for getting me to where I am now. That's it, bro. I literally I literally look at sometimes and be like, you know, it's it's it's difficult to stay motivated all the time. People are like, "Oh, how do you stay motivated?" I'm like, "It's very difficult to stay motivated all the time." It's You got to have a bigger push. You got to have a bigger purpose. Like imagine if I wasn't doing this, Casey. I don't have kids yet. Um so, for you, the motivation comes the kids. All right. But even for you, they're going to they're going to be a stage once when you have a lot of [ __ ] money, you're like, "All right, my kids are set. Life is good." Um there's going to be a stage where you're like, "All right, I need a need a purpose. Like what going to be my purpose?" Um so, what I I was This is when I started making a little bit of money, and I was like, "Man, what's this for? Like All right, I got my I started my kids' accounts. And um in 2022, I started my kids' accounts. And I was like, "All right, I'll have two kids. Let me invest for them." So, what I did was I bought Nvidia. And I remember buying Nvidia on this day. I bought 500 shares each for two kids in two different accounts. And Nvidia was sitting at 100 $40 or now $14 because I did a split. And bought 1,000 shares. I'm like, "You know what? This can be a starting point for them because of this AI stuff is just coming out." Nvidia now is sitting at 186 from $14. So, so it got to And that happened within like 8 months or 10 months. And I was like, "Man, if this is 2022, I'm like, what's the like, all right, my kids are set. What am I going to do?" And that's where I started looking and "You know what? I'm going to have a bigger I was starting to listen to Tony Robbins actually around that time cuz I was like, you know, when when you're asking what's the meaning of What's the meaning of life? Like people say, I'd rather cry in my Lamborghini than cry in my Prius. I'm like, bro, when you're crying in a Prius, you're looking at okay, maybe Lamborghini will fix it. But when you're crying in a Lamborghini, that's when you ask deep questions. Like, what what the [ __ ] When you're lonely in a Lamborghini, that's when you go you ask yourself deep questions. And well, I started listening to Tony Robbins and Tony Robbins talking about how he how he want to feed I think billion people in 10 years or something and he's like, this is my big goal that I have. A lot of people don't have this big goal and that's why they just as soon as they make some money, they just fall off. I'm like, man, I don't want to be that person. What's going to be my big goal? And my big goal came across only thing that I knew. I'm like, all right, you know what? I'm going to I don't want to I've been through enough pain. I don't want other people to go through pain. And this is what I'm going to do. I'm going to make sure that I train 100,000 day traders who start living their life the way they want to do. And [snorts] am I anywhere near that goal? No. But did this give me a push to do this? And when I jump on a call with you or couple days ago I was on a call with Michael. Michael, another student of mine started with like I think he went from 1.8,000 He went from 5,000 to 1.8,000. He lost that 1.8,000 to now he's at 85 85,000 or something. And I'm looking at this and I'm and it's same feeling right now. It just it makes me feel like accomplished. Bro, it makes you feel like like something, you know? Like how you feel probably when you uh when your kids come across you know, running towards you as soon as you walk out of your office. You probably feel accomplished because you get to be there. It's same same feeling right now. But bro, tell me about when you started trading. What were your expectations like? Were you like, oh, I'm I'm going to be making millions and millions of dollars? Or did you know that you would be at the stage where you are right now? No. Um like I said, I think early on um I struggled a lot because I didn't even believe I could be rich. You know, I think a lot of it was um just let me see what I can get. Maybe I can save some money. But maybe you know um I will be able to provide a little bit more for my kids more so than just okay, you know, you They kind of go through the motions of okay, I go to school and then um you know, save for college, things like that. But I want them to have you know, more freedom, right? And be able to afford more things for my kids cuz I'm going up again. Um I was the type that I was afraid to ask for anything from my parents. You know. Going to the store, a lot of window shopping, always just like wide-eyed looking at toys and but never getting anything. Uh and so, you know, if I could at least be able to say yes to my kids to those things, then that would be all worth it. So, that was in the beginning, but I did not even believe I could make money. Uh and and I think so much of the work that I've done since is just about changing my identity into somebody that believes that he can be rich, right? Cuz there's something like people that think negatively about money and being rich is like bad, right? Uh and I really had to work through that to get to where I am now. You know, I think once even when you have the the right framework or system, right, and strategy, if you don't believe that you are the type of person that can do it, it doesn't matter. You won't get there. Um that's that's been all the difference for me. 100% bro. Now, that this is you know, you know why a lot of people have this mindset that um rich is bad in a way and a lot of people have this mindset. Um of course you broke out of that mindset and you started making money and this the moment you start, you know, falling in um I won't say in love with money, but in the process of the process that gets you in love with money. Uh it's about the process that gets you the money, right? It I think it's something to do with the movies and stuff, bro. You know why? Like for example, the one of the biggest movies let's talk about lately that we have seen or one of the biggest movies of this decade probably going to be Avatar. In the Avatar movie, they literally go to a different planet for the sake of money and they they're like, all right, this is what this uh thing is that we can bring to Earth and that's what this is worth. When you see this stuff in pretty much any movie that you're watching, you like watch Spider-Man, the rich guy is the bad guy, the this the rich guy is always the bad guy. So, so they're targeting normal audience. Normal audience is not rich. Normal people are not rich. So, their target is like that 98% of the audience who's not rich, they will feel like, oh, rich people are terrible. They I'm comfortable where I am. So, when you keep seeing something over and over again, that's like you you know, people think, oh, this is how it's meant to be. But when you have to break out of it and when you start realizing actually the nicest people like yourself, bro. The nicest people are the people who go from nothing and they make some money and those are the people who are the nicest in the in the world. Like they usually have they usually are serving more to the people. But anyway, [snorts] bro, um let me ask you this. You said you were not even expecting to make money. You you started, but with no goal. Um now looking back, you left your six-figure job. Been over 12 months. Moved into a new house. Renovated this whole freaking place. Ah. >> [sighs] >> Started small. How much money did you lose before you even started making any money bro? I know I lost at least 30 to 40,000 early on. A lot of it was making it and then losing it, right? Making it and then losing it. I technically never went to zero from where I started, but it was a lot of going up and then losing it all again. Going up and then losing it all again. Um and and you know, overall I guess I would say my tuition or my investment would be around 30,000 30 40,000 around there. That's actually that's actually pretty good, bro. Cuz people lose like, bro, you would be so surprised. People lose like somebody texts me the other day. He's like, hey man, I've lost $400,000 in the market. I'm like, how do you put yourself in a position to lose this much money? He's like, I've been trading for the last 2 years and I've lost everything. I don't have any money. Can can I please get in Casey for free? I'm like, bro, I genuinely want to help you, but um if I get you in for free, you're going to be just not going to [ __ ] actually do what's required. So, you know, because anything that you don't pay for it it's not something you attach with. So, and I know for a fact how do you help somebody who has lost that much and now they only have like $500 to start trading with. I'm like, bro, I just don't know. I'm so sorry. I just don't know how to help you, but you know, if you genuinely want to [ __ ] take yourself to the next level, I got you, but but bro, I know what's your biggest like I want to know that you know, you went from 2,000 to 250. Of course you took a lot of money out as well. Uh what's your baseline where you keep your account at? Like that's like the minimum. Anything that you make over that, you always start take it out. What's the baseline where you keep it? So, before it was and you know, that 100k, that was the goal that I had. Um now I'm trying to keep it above 200, but anything above that I usually take out. Um So, that's kind of where I'm at right now and I'm sure it's going to continue to grow. Yeah, 200 back. >> But I'm always withdrawing money just cuz again, it's it's what you should be doing. Uh you know, you deserve it. You need to pay yourself out and then do something with it. Give it purpose. Give it life. So. No, I love it, bro. Um so, you 200k, that gives you decent capital to be able to make to get the best out of I won't say to make a lot of money, but to get the best out of the opportunity like if the market gives you because you're at a stage where if the market gives you the opportunity, you straight away know that all right, this is the best time for me to add to this trade. This is the best time for me to get the best out of this and you're able to do so. And because of that I think when I was around that 200,000 mark um my average month would be like somewhere 40 to 50k, 30k, 50k. That That started being my average average month. Um what's your average look like? Or do you even look at average like this? Or do you go now? Uh yeah, I I mean I keep track of it. Um and and you're kind of right in the ballpark there about 30 to 50 depending on the months. Um at least over the last 6-7 months that I've been tracking it in that way. Um that's kind of my range. So. How freaking good is that, bro? How freaking >> Yeah, I mean I I I sometimes have to remind myself that it's okay to celebrate that, you know, like dude, feel good about that. You earned it. You deserve it. Um uh so, yeah, I mean it feels great for sure. You know, it pays the bills, pays the house, you know. Um But yeah, I mean it's amazing. Bro, I love I love I love how the the nice equity curve that you have, you know, everything. Um so, now this this is what comes in my mind. What I know you said you were losing a lot of money to the point where you stopped losing a lot of money. You went break even and then you started making money from that point. So, if you have to just look, let's say this is old you and this is new you. They're both talking to each other right now. Um what do you reckon this old you was doing to what this new you started doing? Like what changed? Of this different personality came across. Uh yeah, I mean I I think the the the the most simple Well, there's two things I would say. One thing for sure is it's not what you make, it's what you keep. Right? And there was a point I think uh maybe 6-7 months ago where I was looking at my There was a 30-40 day span where I made 130,000. But I also lost 90,000. Right? Cuz they gave you the how much you made and then how much you lost in the same amount of time. I just I separated and I saw that. I'm like, wow. You know? Imagine if I didn't Imagine if those losses like that 90,000 was even just half. Right? So, it's not how much you make. It I think again, I think we talked about this briefly, but it I think trading is easy. Trading that that that part is actually simple, right? But the hard part is keeping it because what we do is we tend to inject ourselves into the process a lot. So those nine that 90,000 that I lost, a lot of it was, you know, not accepting that that loss, you know, trying to get in again when you knew clearly the trend is not showing itself. You know, maybe even a couple of times, though I don't really do it often, but you know, I doubled down, right? Because I really believed in the trend here. Simple things like that, right? Or maybe, you know, being too eager, you know, maybe it's a Monday or Tuesday. I look at my stats. Those are the days I lose the most because over the weekend you get eager sometimes, right? You learn that about yourself. And so just eliminating those instances, already you can already that be that much more profitable. So that's one thing with the making and the keeping. The other part I think that was a huge difference from my old self versus my new self is just the belief that I can have more. You know, I'm not the type to ask for more. I'm not the type to ask for anything for help. That's culturally that's part of it, but just myself like I always feel like I had this mindset of this is this is enough. But who are like who who's the one that told me this is enough? That's something that you just create in your own mind. Right? So when I started allowing myself to receive more and then expanding my capacity and like just my identity again going back to that like I believe that I'm meant for more. Then that's when everything changed. Suddenly my winners were not just, you know, you know, like 2x, whatever. It could be suddenly 10x, you know, you can make 100% 200% and it's just allowing the process to play out. What I noticed often, especially if you want to talk about technical trading, was just how I was able to eventually change the meaning of what I saw on the chart. Because one person can see the chart as an opportunity, another person can see it as a threat, right? And for me, the moment I get into a trade a lot of times a red candle, what does that mean? Before it would mean, oh my gosh, my money, I might lose the money, like the unrealized P&L. Like, oh it's going down, blah blah blah, and you start psyching yourself out. And so then you want to get out. Now, okay, I just believe it's part of the process. The market cannot go straight up. It has to go up and down in order to go up, you know? So something simple like that already makes such a big difference cuz now I'm allowing myself to stay in it, just trusting the process. And leaving, you know, the the market to do its thing versus again injecting myself into it where all the fear and the emotions come out and suddenly, you know, a thousand-dollar trade, you know, now it can be 2,000 or 3,000 versus getting out for, you know, the moment it dipped under a thousand cuz you're looking at the P&L going up and down and you're giving it some sort of meaning when it's really just part of the process. So that that definitely changed a lot. Bro. 100% man. I was listening to you this this time and [ __ ] I don't know how to say it. I need I'm bro, I'm I'm getting a little bit emotional because this is exactly my my my story. This is exactly me. I remember putting the data the of everything into I put this data back in the day in this I think at that time there was a different journaling software. And I put this data there and it said from the day I started trading now I've made this much and I've lost this much. Like it was six figures and six figures. I'm like bro, I I have made 300,000 but I've lost 340,000. So I know how to make money. I just need to control my losses. And I remember me I was [snorts] at work at that stage because there's some things and I and I was at work and I'm looking at my So I was sitting at the loading dock. At the loading dock, you know, there's a big round mirrors that usually so if there is anything coming on the other side. I'm sitting in the loading dock and there's a massive round mirror that is stuck in the corner to tell the drivers if there's anything on the other side, the forklift drivers. I'm sitting there and I'm looking at my phone and I look up in that mirror and I see myself just I don't know the world just [ __ ] went silent and I remember almost cried. I'm like, man, that lot money would have changed my life. And now when you were talking about it, it's like deja vu, bro. Like [ __ ] it's exactly the same freaking thing that happened. Um And you know, when and you know, when you say it's the belief that you can do it. It's the belief exactly but when you start like you growing up didn't have enough to always enough enough money to do anything or just didn't want to ask your parents because you know that they're doing doing their best. And you don't want to be another burden. Bro, it's like it's like we we almost had the same childhood. Almost [snorts] we had the same [ __ ] trading journey and I freaking love that. And I know what's coming next for you because that's what happened next for me. What What's coming next for you is [ __ ] fuckton of money, fuckton of blessings bro. And it just goes exponentially and I'm pretty sure you know how exponentially goes. And it's just going to keep on growing as long as you keep on improving yourself. But bro, I love the momentum and I love that you focused on building confidence by looking at the actual right data that you should be looking at. So now when you're starting to trade at 9:30 when the market opens, what's your pre-market? Like what's your mindset approaching the day? >> Yeah, I have a pretty pretty solid routine in the morning. I don't ever start the day without first giving glory to God. The moment I wake up I'm saying thanks, you know, I'm focusing on gratitude. I think a lot of my issues before too was just not feeling like I have enough, not feeling safe, always feeling like I have to be some sort of scrapper, some sort of survivor. And, you know, I mean even before this house, but like especially now in this new home that I have, I'm just so grateful. And I know that there's not one single trade that's ever going to ever ever define who I am. You know, so I can take a loss and it doesn't even matter because I already have enough. And that's a belief too. Like that's something that you have to truly believe in. So my morning always starts off with gratitude and just praying. And then I really take time to get into the right state before I even turn on the computer. So >> So that means you have to wake up at what time? What time do you wake up in the morning? >> So market opens at 6:30. I'm usually up by five and just going around the house, just being appreciative. I do have like a little altar and I I do my praying there. And then obviously I look at the pre-market and I see what's going on. Identify certain areas and things like that, but for the most part it's just going through the motions and just making sure I'm optimized. It's like I think a lot of people go into each day, you know, ready for the next trade, looking for the next opportunity, looking at key levels so closely, but really all you need to work on, especially if you have a clear edge already, is yourself. So I'm always looking inward first. Anytime there's any sort of feeling of want or any feeling of lack or like like I have to try really hard to be something, then you know something's wrong there and you have to work on that. There's not like has nothing to do with your trading. And so that's part of my morning routine every single day. This is one of the most difficult issues to deal with and you have [ __ ] dealt with it, bro. This is one of the most difficult thing that you deal with as a as a high achiever. You are a part of high achiever now. High achievers usually have like couple things which are just wrong with them. Number one, which is that there's always a sense of insecurity, but you have dealt with it. So So the insecurity of like will everything go away? But no, when you see a skill set, you know, scared, you're like, bro, there's not going to be ever one trade that's going to wipe me out. It's never going to happen. Cuz your skill set of risk management. So you're comfortable leaving that 200,000 dollars in your trading account and you're like, you know what, man, I'm comfortable leaving this money here because I know I caught this. Even on a bad day I'm not going to let this money blow up. And also, you know what else helped, bro? And I'm glad that you mentioned when you wake up to get into the zone, you walk around the house and you look around the house. You know what it does? I actually moved into this house as well. I sometimes do this. Dude, it's just bro, trading paid for all this. Bro, trading trading made this possible. And just looking around that's just like you enjoying the fruit of your labor. Or sometimes what helped because my father-in-law now started living with me bro. And he went through some separation. So he didn't have any money. Anyway, so I called him call him one day. I'm like, what happened? He's like, this happened. I'm like, what you going to do? He's like, oh, still figuring it out. I'm like, do you want to come live with me? He's like, oh, but I'm like, don't worry about it. You don't have to pay for rent. You don't have to work a job. I got you. Like come live. And yesterday when I was about to go to bed, I see him I see him and my wife. They were both in the pool and just having a conversation. And I swear what I'm I'm going up the stairs. So I see them out the out the window and in my brain I'm thinking of Well, I was so tired. I was so exhausted. I was like I'm like, man, I couldn't wait to go to bed and I'm standing in the stairs and just looking at them. I'm like, this is this is what I worked out for. This is what I [ __ ] worked out today for. I'm not tired anymore. And I know for a fact everybody with kids tell me this. Like, bro, when you have kids and you see them playing walking around, you're not going to be tired ever. You like, don't matter how tired you are, broken you are, [ __ ] you're going to come home and you're like, [ __ ] life is so good. So tell me now, bro, so when you say that the market's about to open, >> [snorts] >> do you So you have set your you draw your market levels in the pre-market and everything. Do you go um right at the market open, what's the first thing you're waiting for? Are you looking for trade right at the market open because I know you No, but what's your approach at 9:30 or 6:30 for you? [ __ ] it's all Yeah. What's your approach? Yeah, so market open I I I mean it started off just knowing my stats, right? The most amount of money I've lost has always been the first 30 minutes of the day and for the longest time I would fight that. It's silly because you just know that's where there's the most volatility and you know, it's not just that though, but there's not a lot of clarity in what's going on and so for me I want to be able to you know, see things develop so that I can understand the story that's being told. Instead of again trying to inject myself into the story, I'm letting things play out. Um a lot of times too now I I don't really have much to do early on in the morning because I'm playing off of a higher time frame and you know there's there's levels that you see I think you know, we we talk about hourly levels is one thing, but I don't even really use hourly levels as much anymore. To me is more weekly levels. And so if you're not getting around those areas where we know there's a lot of interaction, I'm most likely not going to play it because there's not going to be a lot of follow through sometimes. Um >> [clears throat] >> and when there is action at a at a at a weekly level or monthly level even then everything kind of comes into play. Um but for the most part the first 30 minutes I'm just relaxed. You know, I'm just letting things play out. It's almost like you're letting the two kids fight each other and then later you you'll jump in. Um that's kind of how it feels to me. Um but I I have a really clear plan of what I what I'm looking for. I'm not I'm not looking to make money, right? I'm not looking to see my strategy in a sense. I don't want to see an example of it. I want to see my edge actually come out. That's when I want to jump in. Uh and in the beginning that was really hard, but now it's just like it's it's normal. It's it's you know, it's It's It's not like I'm even being patient. You know, I think a lot of people talk about I got to be more patient. I need to be more disciplined. I think in the beginning you need to think about that, but now it's like it's just part of you. Um It just becomes a habit. It just becomes your second nature. >> Exactly. Exactly. So I I know people are always trying to how can I be more patient, right? Um Well, to me is partly my edge, but also my mindset now of just this is not what I'm cuz what what's going on is the brain. The brain is interpreting thing and giving you meaning and it's always going to focus on what you want the most. If you want to make money, it's going to look for something for you. Right? And a lot of times that's those are the traps. That's why we jump into things prematurely and that's why we lose money to begin with, right? So I know that about myself and I worked on that really really hard the last few years and that's why now it's easy. >> 100% bro. I think Tony Robbins talk about this. He says um just look around you. Bro, look around you while I'm looking around. Look around you and look at all the brown things. All right? So when you were looking at the brown things, did you go even the light brown? Did you also count that as a brown or the dark brown? This is what Tony Robbins talks about. He's like, your brain automatically when you're looking for something, let's say you're looking for brown, you're going to calculate the golden things is brown because cuz your brain wants to feel something good about it. You're like, okay, this is brown, dark brown, that's brown, this Ah, it's almost brown. Yeah, it's brown. Oh, this thing is orange. Oh, but has a little shade of brown. Yeah, it's brown. So you're going to it becomes brown because you're looking for it. And that's exactly what happened with people. They're looking for a trade. They're like, oh my god, I need to make money. Bro, you're looking for it. Even the mediocre trades going to look like A+ trades, especially when you're desperate. Yeah, from from my health care background and especially in neuroscience, we call that part of the brain the reticular activating system and that's exactly what happens. You when you want something, that part of the brain is going to filter everything out and it's just going to give you what you want, but what you want based on what you see is not always real or legit. So When you said this is the question that I'm pretty sure everybody who's listening to this they're going to have a question. When you said weekly levels, not hourly levels, talk to me about your A+ setup. Talk to me about your strategy. By the way, y'all, this man he learned how to trade from me. He learned how to and then but here's the thing. I have jumped I've done probably 50 student success interviews right now. Everybody started with the same base. But everybody's foundations look the same because foundations are meant to be the same, but everybody's building that they all the houses they have built on top, they're different. It's different plan, different architect, different different liking. Um so it's same thing here as well. My trading is totally different or would be totally different as in like the foundations will be the same but trading style would be different than JTQ or Michael's or my brother's or everybody else. So when you say this is your style, weekly, monthly levels, talk to me about it. Talk to you talk to us about it, bro. Yeah um I mean it's pretty straightforward. I think the more opportunities there are, this is kind of the the the the reason for it is the more opportunities there are, it doesn't mean there's more opportunities to make money. There's more That mean That just means there's more opportunities to lose money in my opinion. Uh so in smaller time frames, the brain has to process more candles, right? And again going back to you when you want something, when you're looking for something, of course is anything is going to look good cuz there's a lot more candles to look at. Um so for me, I I realized about about myself and I say that for myself, you know, maybe somebody else can handle it better. That's cool. But for me, I know the more I see, the worse my trading gets. So I don't necessarily focus on smaller time frames because I know for myself I would want to jump at it, right? Uh so I started working on just weekly levels and I also find that there's more volume, right? There's more touches on the weekly cuz if it shows up on your weekly chart, that means it's pretty strong cuz there's a lot of interaction there. Uh and so usually there's going to be some participants at those levels. And so those are the levels for me that I want to take action at. Um so you know, I mean if we talk about those patient candles like these are fractal, right? You can see the same kind of candle setup on the two minute as you see on the 10 minute, on the hourly, the four hourly, the weekly. So if you can wait for that on a higher time frame, there's to me based on my backtesting and my studying that it is a higher has a higher chance of working out. So I've just been really good at waiting for those weekly levels. I know myself the more I see, the more I want and that's the work that I had to work to go through and and so now it's just common. My charts are very clean. Um there's not many levels on there. There's not even many indicators on there. It's just price action. That's how I I see it. But the obviously the framework is the same. Yeah. Bro, now I'm taking a [ __ ] note of this because I need to I need to go have a look. When you say you draw levels on a weekly chart and you're looking for a BC or a patient candle that we call it. >> [snorts] >> Um what time frames are you trading? Um is it day trading every day? Like what are the time >> If I'm going to take if I'm going to take a day trade is on the 10 minute. So even if it's at 10:00 or 10:00 Eastern time, half an hour into the market, you're looking at 10 minute. Yeah, 10 minute, um sometimes 30 hourly, but usually never smaller than that. Uh the most money of I've lost is based off the two minute. So I honestly I'm I got rid of all of that. Okay. A lot of fighting because again you want opportunity. That's what the brain craves. That's what you know about yourself. You have to address it. And until I addressed I until I finally addressed it, I wasn't making enough progress. But now it's like truly less is more for Okay, so you said on a 10 minute chart, it's the smallest time frame. If there's a weekly level, let's say a $100 mark. All right? There's a weekly level. 10 minute chart's trendy. Gives you a nice BC, nice pullback, nice patient candle. Um you enter the profit target is um the profit target's going to be your weekly level. Is that what we said? Yeah, and I'm going to let it play out. I'm not going to get uh faked out on the two minute or the five minute. I'm not going to be faked out by an hourly level, right? Um I'm only going to just let things play out until it gets to the weekly. I have other things that I put in place. So like the VIX obviously matters a lot to me. If I'm going to allow a trade to go through the day and even overnight sometimes, it's only because there's certain criteria met. Uh and it that means the name is relatively strong and trending. >> Um okay. So now all right. By the way, y'all, um everything that we're talking about this is um this is this is the stuff that every single day trader has a little bit different from everybody. Um so there's some some stuff that you're going to be liking more than another next person and um the only way to learn is you pick as much and be a sponge and absorb and then have a look and then you're like, all right, this is what I do. And I'm looking at this basic concepts. Let me see. All right, I'm I'm not very good at two minute chart, but let me see what what am I good at? I'm good at 10 minute chart. All right, what about if I start using 10 minute chart? All right, hourly levels I sell early every single time and then it's still going. You know what? Maybe I should use daily levels. Oh, I sell early every time. Maybe I should check weekly levels. You check weekly I'm like, oh my god, these are these are the best. So you find your system to find the thing by mastering He mastered at first place how to trade the hourly charts and he's like, nah, I'm man, I can't do the best here. I need to be on a bigger time frame. You cannot get mastery without actually understanding the foundation and that's what I just want to clear up. Make sure everybody's on the same page. So bro talk tell me about uh so you do not trade right at the market open. You have drawn your levels. You're ready to freaking go um and you're not scalping because you're on a 10 minute chart. You're waiting for the big moves. Um the 10 minute charts sometimes it gives you a freaking beautiful beautiful entries and now what happens What happens let's say you jumped into a trade. The trade is moving in your favor. It's moving in your favor and the market about to close. Hasn't hit your level. And now you like, you know what? It looks really good. I'm up this much. Would you hold that overnight? Is that what you mean? Yeah, so it depends, right? It has to be a relatively strong strong name. It needs to be closing near the highs. Vix needs to be below 18 for me. Like that's how my backtesting has been. Then I will leave some runners for overnight. That's how I've been able to capture some bigger moves. But it also then depends what kind of market we're in, right? We have different market stages. And that's something I realized too. Like, you know, the the setups that we've taught and we've learned, they don't work in every single environment. So if we're in a a stage where it's just up and down, ranging sideways, yeah, I'm not going to take that overnight. I'm most likely not even going to trade during that during that environment. So So that means you do not have a hard time staying cash. You're pretty comfortable with your life. >> Yeah, that's honestly the hardest part of the game is to not just deploy everything. Especially when you have a lot, you can. But I I would say it's it's just like if someone's super rich and successful, they're not going to bother themselves with like let's say you're a businessman, right? You're not going to go bother with like a And you you're you're talking millions and and whatever. You're not going to go make a deal for like a thousand dollars with somebody, right? So not every single trade is high quality. You want to make sure your standards are high no matter what. Just because you have more doesn't mean you should spend more. It has to be the right investment for you. 100% A+ trades. Sorry, I just want to say My other thing that I really learned for myself, again everything's for myself, right? But to me an A+ trade isn't just a setup. It has to bring out A+ you. And that's why I said a lot of the work for me lately has been about understanding myself and how I tick. And if this trade I mean, I can make a lot of money, but if I'm stressed the hell out, I'm not going to like that trade. And I'm more likely to make mistakes. So why get myself into that trade? Why put yourself into a position where you do not Exactly. Just because we can handle it, that doesn't mean we should put ourselves through it, right? That's that's that's my thing too. It's like you have to be It has to align with your your edge, but also it needs to bring out the best version of you. So that way you can actually execute fully. And that's how I've been able to really allow myself to receive more and make more. Which is something that was super hard in the beginning. Do you reckon Do you reckon your journaling and everything that you do What's your journaling process like? That definitely helped you get to the stage that you are. Oh, yeah. I'll say I I have a friend and he helped me develop this report card. And this report card is something that I use every single day. And I I I grade my trades. I reflect. I note the sizing, the management of all of it, and the reflection of it. On top of that, there's a section where I write about all the trades I that were easy, other trades that I missed. That's super important too cuz that's where I honestly I learned a lot. And then just a weekly reflection of how I did and what I'm going to bring into the next. And that's just something I've been doing for like more than a year straight now. And that's helped me stay on it completely. I know there's so many different journaling platforms, but for me I like using a report card because it makes things very Like you have to face yourself. And for sure that's made all the difference too. Right, bro. So when you say when you talk about report card, if you have to quickly do a 60-second speech on a for somebody who doesn't know what the [ __ ] report card is, what would you say? Yeah, I mean, if you're not How can you get better if you don't reflect, right? Nobody gets better from trading just by trading. You have to reflect on your trading. You have to understand what you did right, what you did wrong, what you missed out on, what you could do better. And that's something that a lot of people just naturally don't like to do cuz they don't like to look in the mirror and kind of see all the flaws. But the only way to grow is to go through the hard stuff. And I think what's what's the saying? Like the magic you seek is in the work you're avoiding or something like that. So that's exactly what it is. And you cannot you cannot grow like legitimately grow unless you go through that. Because you can make money, but if you but the moment you start losing money, you don't understand why you can just going to keep trying to do the same thing over and over. That's how you end up blowing up, right? I had to start facing my demons. I had to start facing myself. Look at the man in the mirror and honestly that's where all the answers are. But everyone likes to look, you know, on Instagram or or Reddit or YouTube for another strategy. Something outside. >> [laughter] >> But in in reality, the reality is this. You can have a best strategy in the world that works let's say 98% of the time. There's no strategy that works that good. Let's say a strategy works 98% of the time. There's still two losing trades out of 100. If your mindset's not [ __ ] good, but you're going to blow up everything that you made in those 98 trades in those two. This is This example that I was telling my chat a couple days ago. Um In case he was talking about this as well. I was like, having a standard. Everybody has says like, I don't know how to be disciplined, man. I'm like, you know how to be disciplined. And I asked him like, you single, bro? And he's like, yeah, I'm single. Like >> [snorts] >> Do you just pick up a junkie from the side of the road just because you can? Oh, yeah. I'll get you some [ __ ] friend. Yeah, come on. Let's go home. Go Let's go meet my parents. He's like, [ __ ] no. I'm like, so you have discipline. You know your standards. You're like, my standards are here. I'm not going to go under my standards from the side of the road, a junkie. No. My standards are here. Like so you have the standards. It's just when it comes to trading, you like accepting mediocre because you do not know what the standard should be. And he goes, that makes sense. Like of course that makes sense. So same thing that you did, bro. You just raise your bar higher and higher and higher and higher. And you know what's going to happen next, JD? Your bar's going to keep on [ __ ] rising. Because as the market keeps on changing, your game's going to keep on improving. And you just going to stop picking up new and new new stuff. And it's a constant freaking I used to call it a constant battle. Now I'll call it a constant journey. Mhm. It's a constant journey. It's always always improving journey. The moment you start taking it easy, the moment you freaking see later. Report card. So you're writing down all this stuff about all this every single trade and grading them A, B, C, D, E, F or whatever it is, whatever they use. Then you're reflecting over these report cards over the weekend. Am I right? Oh, yeah. For sure. That's what weekends are for. Bro, tell me about the weekend. What do you do? I mean, you know, first things first is family time, but I always make time to work on myself. Um you know, whether it's early hours or late hours at night when the kids are at bed or in bed. I'm reflecting. I'm backtesting. I'm reading. It's just something that is a part of me. And um It doesn't feel like I'm working hard. It's just my craft, you know? It's just something that I love to do. And um you know, so I just do it. It's just [clears throat] part of me. Because you love the game. Yeah, for the love of the game, for sure. How long does it take you to let's say if you have to say for somebody who's out there who has a full-time job and because you had a full-time job initially when you started this. And about 14 13 14 months ago or whatever, you quit your job. But before that you were putting in time as well. And still going to doing your job, putting in time, getting better, and still putting in time into improving the craft, which is the reason why you kept growing. Um So let's say if somebody goes to work eight hours a day. And they're traveling for like, you know, the commute's two hours. And you know, doing other [ __ ] is like another two hours. Eight hours of sleeping, they got four hours. How much time were you putting in this craft? Were you even sleeping eight hours? I'm pretty sure not. How much time were you putting in to get better or how much time do you put in now compared to how much time were you putting in which got you the position that you are? You know what's funny? I think a lot of people think that I don't really work hard anymore because I'm already full-time trader. I actually work harder. You know, part of it again is just because I love this now. I mean, I always loved it, but like I I love it even more because I get I get to go even deeper these days. Um but I put in a lot of time, for sure. I It's not just the backtesting, but it's also the journaling, the report card, and then also reading. Like I'm always into self-growth and self-help and personal development. And and just really working on my mindset. So that's always something that's constant. And it It's actually never changed from the day where you know, I was working three jobs and my firstborn my son was born, I was still I was sacrificing my sleep, for sure. And I'm not proud of that necessarily. I'm not using that as like a boast at all. But it's funny I I I tell some of my other my friends that are new dads, like I say, you know, you're going to be miserable and tired anyways, why not be miserable, tired, and productive? You know, make time for yourself to do these things. Because you're going to feel better because of it. And so that's just something that I've always kept with me. Right. 100% bro. [ __ ] yeah. I remember with the last time you were on the call, I see I saw your little one ran in. Um how old is he now? So my my son is almost five. And then my daughter's almost three. And then my the youngest one just turned one. So I have three. I remember the last time when we jumped on. I think the young you just had the new ba- newborn. I think he was there. Yes. Yeah. Yeah, about a year ago. Yeah. It was crazy. But time flies, isn't it? Yeah. Time flies flies. Like it's absolutely bro. I'm so I'm just I just want to you know I just want to let you know bro I'm pretty sure that you already know this. Bro I'm [ __ ] proud of you bro. I appreciate that man. It means a lot coming from you for sure. There's there's you know people can say what they want about trading and courses and mentorship and all that. The ones that really get something out of it to me are the ones that really put in the work but also take time to dig deeper and when you can understand like like I I'll just say it now. What drew me to you was how real you guys were right? I I under I you said it yourself. I think we kind of went through the same kind of childhood and background you know and when you can understand someone at that level then the trading gets a lot easier right? The learning becomes easier. You put more into it but if you don't take the time to really get to that level then everything is going to sound like you know [ __ ] right? And and so that's why some people do well with these mentorships and some people don't. I definitely took everything to heart and I was also just so grateful because I was already at the point where I dude I'm about to give up. I'm tired. I'm done losing. I'm done not figuring it out. I wanted to put my full trust into you guys and obviously thanking God for bringing aligning everything to get to that point and so from then on it was just like I'm going to do everything I can and look where I am now right? Like that's not something that I ever will take for granted you know no matter where we are and what how different our lives may be or you know whatever you're doing whatever I'm doing like I'll always give you credit you and V for getting me to where I am now. Bro I've taught trading to thousands of people I promise you at this stage. And um it's the same it's the same it's the same same concepts that I've explained to thousands of people right? Some people do exceptionally well. Some people just say some issue you scammed me you know I'm like bro if you don't if you're not ready to put in the time not ready to look inwards if you're not ready to go man I [ __ ] up. If you blame other people for your for your failures you're very far from your destination. If you blame yourself for your failures you're almost there. But if you blame nothing and nobody congratulations you made it cuz I'm pretty sure that's the spot where you at right now like what you said before take a trade it didn't work it is what it is it doesn't define me it doesn't it doesn't mean [ __ ] Yeah. We blame nothing. It is what it is. What next? You look for the next one. There's no blame game there's congratulations you made it. Bro now what's your position size on like do you have a different position size at the different times of the day or different days of the week? Do you trade zero days to expiration? Like what's your position sizes on the first trade versus the second trade? Do you still use the bell curve framework so what? Yeah so you know the bell curve is something I still keep in mind. Um I I break down my trades nowadays into three different types of entries. Um and there's there's there's one entry where I size up and it just depends on where we are in terms of structure right? Um I have these weekly levels like these these areas where I want to take action and and it's based on hard evidence right? So like let's say the market is moving down down down down down and it gets to this area where we can see hard evidence that buyers have shown up here before that's actually where I want to size. Because if I'm wrong there I'm wrong really fast and I can accept it right? But the risk reward from there is very high. If I'm playing a breakout then my sizing has to be different and have to account for that. Before I would have it all mixed up and I would not have clarity on what kind of sizing is for what type of trade. Um and so I would size up when I should actually when when when we're breaking out and that doesn't necessarily show that there's evidence that that buyers were here or or anything like that so um you know the chance of getting stopped out is higher. Why would you size up that high on that type of trade? So >> [clears throat] >> again these are all the things that work for me and now I have very like clear um types of entries and clear entry sizes so when when something comes up I'm ready to take it I'm not questioning anything and I'm very very comfortable with the results from that so You said it's a different position sizing for different setups and different set up those are coming from your journals because you know this works this is how much it works [clears throat] and it's based off risk reward. If the risk is small reward's massive bro you good you can go heavy doesn't matter. But if the risk is significantly bigger you go to small because the risk is bigger. Um so with this with with that being said there was a time um you didn't like I wouldn't say um you didn't have the system because you always kind of knew um how to trade not always like when you first started making money. Now I want to I want to just know you do you trade same day expiration contracts and if you are trading same day expiration contracts like on a Friday like some people do not do very good with same day expiration contracts they have to be a little bit out. Um I personally perform really really good when I'm trading same day expiration contracts and I'm looking forward to next week by the way. Um for people who do not know we're recording this on Jan 26th but from next week um Tesla name certain names going to have Tuesday uh sorry Monday Wednesday and Friday expirations. I'm looking forward to that honestly I haven't slept in a week because I'm so looking forward to it. Um So do your position sizes or trading style differ when you're on a certain day like on a Friday? Like how does how do you approach that type of day? It depends on the names that I'm trading so my watch list is is actually shrunk right? So now I really just focus on the indices which is spy Qs and SPX is actually something that I have started trading zero DTE. Um there was a mental block before you know people who say that doesn't work it's cuz they don't know how to make it work. And that's something that I've kind of figured out personally for myself. So I do trade zero DTE but there's very specific strategies for that and for the most part I am like let's say that one entry where I can size up a little bit more I'm also buying more time. Because so like the names like Amazon Apple Nvidia they move slower right? So you got to give it time to go. Um and so I I typically play a few weeks out for those and and and but for spy and Qs I'll play smaller time like smaller expirations. Right. Okay that's interesting. >> More volume or liquidity and it moves faster you know those are different. Right. Tesla as well like Tesla definitely I can play the same weekly contracts. Yeah cuz they they move quick. Right. Bro there was a time in your trading journey where you were dealing with a slump and you came out of the slump and you [ __ ] crushed it and and hey look around you bro you you've done it. So if if let's say JTQ from the back in the day sitting right next to you what do you tell him to how to deal with the slump? What's the first [ __ ] step that you that JTQ has to take? Yeah it's not willpower you know you're not going to get through it just based on willpower. Um for me everything now goes back to again your identity like I'll say most traders including myself like whenever we start having thoughts about quitting it's not because you're losing it's because somewhere you started stop believing that you can be somebody different you know? You stop believing that you can make it. And so for myself that never wavers anymore. Like I have full belief in myself. I know who I am. I put trust in myself in my system in my edge. So when I have a loss or a string of losses even any sort of drawdown with more recently had a a drawdown in November or this past November was a little bit tougher for me given a couple of different circumstances but at that point I never wavered. I just like okay this is just part of it you know? Because my belief in myself my self concept my identity is like the same. Like I know that I've made it no matter what. But most people that get to that line and they struggle to recover is because it's it's not even the numbers that they lost is suddenly their belief in themselves changes. How do you convince somebody who hasn't who um let's say JTQ from back in the day who who looks around and he hasn't have the like you know you can look around now. I can look around now. I can I'm if I'm feeling down I can go in my garage and I see my Rolls-Royce there. I can see my GT3RS. I have my Lambo there. Um I'm like all right you know what I got this bro. Um but when you first starting you you you don't have anything to show for. So this is only motivation that actually do you you find or only thing that you find is through um like like dedication or you're like man I got this there's the willpower is the only best friend in a way that you have to keep going because you don't have hard evidence of you actually making it. But how do you I know it's it's the most difficult question when somebody asked me that as well because it's just difficult to answer because you're like bro it's just there's normal. What the [ __ ] are you going to do? You in [ __ ] Why would you stop in [ __ ] Just keep going. Um but how did you bounce back? Like did you look inwards and you went like you know what man I'm going to journal I'm going to find out what the [ __ ] did I do? Like what's that process was like if you want to speak on it for a quick 1 minute. Yeah, of course. So, for myself it was like um during those times when I didn't have anything, right? Um the only thing you can hold on to is your faith and the only thing you can hold on to is your reason why. Why are you doing this to begin with? Um and you know, I'm the type that I never want to go back on my word. If I say something, it's going to happen. And and uh so, I would I would really dig deep on that and and then kind of hold myself accountable because of it. Even though it sucks, even though I felt I shouldn't in that moment, um I had a big why. You know, again my kids are part of my why, right? Um >> [clears throat] >> and and I think that definitely got me through it during those times for sure. It's just like having a big enough reason cuz a lot of people get into trading, I think, and and and and I get this a lot now because, you know, I'm all my friends are like, "Oh, you don't work in health care anymore? What do you do?" I'm like, "Well, I kind of do this or that, right?" But like and then people get interested if if if he can do it, why can't I, right? Well, the problem is a lot of people are interested, but they're not committed. And the thing is like especially at our age where we like if you already have a career, guess what? Money's always coming in. So, if money was the only thing you wanted, you're technically going to get it from your job. And so, when when things get hard, you're probably going to just quit, right? And you're going to be like, "Well, whatever. I still have money coming in." But if you're committed to it, it's no longer just about the money. It's like, I want to be the best trader possible. Then you're going to dig deep and then you're going to figure out what you need to do. So, there's a big difference. Bro, this is uh this is so good. The mindset that I have your mindset has shifted so much from and this is legit. This is like legit advice for everybody. This is like legit legit. Like you truly needs to fall in love with trading. Like you truly needs No, like people love money. No, you truly needs to fall in love with the process of it. Like the daily's, the ups and downs and there's no ups without the downs. Um and if you're just winning all the time, there's no feeling in behind it. You got to go through down and be like Like he said, November was a little bit crappy month. What happened? December, I'm pretty sure he crushed it. Um it's just there's no ups without the downs and if there's no downs, the ups [ __ ] become pretty much useless because like yeah, it becomes like a day job because at a day job money's going to come in. So, you're like, "Yeah, it is what it is. Money's coming in anyway." Um and that's why this journey becomes so [ __ ] fruitful. But bro, tell me about Were you Were your wife always supportive? Were you Was your missus always supportive of you being a trader? Yeah, I I um I think about that a lot and and I honestly feel super lucky because she's always been super supportive. I just remember we were we were laying on the ground with my son at the time we only had one and I was like, "Babe, I really need to figure this out. I'm not going to do this by myself anymore. I'm going to invest in learning uh investing in myself by paying for this mentorship, which was yours right? And she was like, "Okay, if you really believe it, do it. Go for it. I believe in you." And that is something that I hold on to be all these all these days all these years. Um just having that support is so important. And you know, you can say all these things and every behind every good man is a good woman, that's for sure, right? Uh she is definitely the reason why I am where I am now, too. Um Yeah, I don't know. I can say I can go on and on about how great it is to have her as my support. And I can't even imagine how it would be without her support. So, anybody that wants to get into trading, you really need to get your wife on your side. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, cuz the only and and somebody was like, "Hey man, my wife's not supportive." I'm like, "Have you ever done something which gives her the proof that you caught this? Are you some like It is so much like what you said, bro. You have You made 140,000, but you lost you know, 120,000. You're like, "Man, if I would have lost a little bit less money, I would have kept all." I'm like, "Just And I've told this to somebody. I'm like, have you ever made $300 from your trading?" He's like, "Yeah." I'm like, "One day when you make 300, take $300 out of your trading account, put in your bank account, take your wife out on a on a nice dinner, and then when she's watching, tip the waiter 100 bucks. Eat for 200 bucks. Tip the waiter. And when everything is done, then look into her eye and say, "Trading paid for this, babe." And that smile that you're going to see on her face, like really? That's going to change everything. You're going to shift You're going to She's going to see that you can actually do this. That's where support changes. Um but if if you have somebody who's like supportive without seeing the growth, bro, that's what my wife was like. When she was my girlfriend at the time, I didn't have anything to show for it and she was supportive. And now she I have a pretty amazing life and she gets to live the amazing life for free. >> [laughter] >> So, but it's it's very difficult to be supportive when you do not actually when you haven't seen anything, bro. Yeah. You see what I'm saying? We had to go through that as well, but she um I think I think what helps and I've spoken with other people about it like if you're afraid to tell your wife when you lose, it's going to be tough for you to make it. Uh I think being able to leave it out there and kind of share with her the ups and downs and her then seeing the work that I'm doing to correct it to fix it to get better, that's what gave her security. It wasn't when I made X amount. It's the fact that I showed her that I'm the type of person that can do this and I can be successful, that's what got her to fully support me. 100%. >> told me anyways. >> [laughter] >> [ __ ] 100%, bro. Uh this is it. Cuz bro, all right. You know what? Let's wrap it up because I know you have to go pick up your kids. >> I knew yeah, I had to go pick up the kids in a bit. Yeah, um let's wrap it up. Um I have one question for you and that's the last question that I have for you. Before we end there's somebody who's listening to you right now who has a small account like you had $2,000 account to start with. Before we end, um what advice do you have for the someone who's sitting there and watching and you are his hope and you're like, "Man, I want to be like JTQ. This this There's some somebody who's like who's in the same shoes as you were." What advice do you have for that person to grow a small account? Yeah, no. I I have so many things I want to say. I think one thing that I will say cuz I wish someone told me this when I was at the small account. When you're on your smaller account, I think you feel very small. And every single mistake that you make gets magnified, right? And it just makes you feel that much further away from success, but all it really takes is a couple mindset shifts and like decisions, right? And And so, a a quote that I heard recently was, "You're under no obligation to be the same person you were yesterday." And you know, so whatever mistakes you have made, whatever things you've gone through, it doesn't mean that has to carry over to the You get to decide every single day who you want to be. Do you want to be a successful trader, a consistently profitable trader, someone that um money just comes to all the time, someone that makes an impact for other people? You can decide to be that. It doesn't necessarily show up right away, but if you have that belief and that thought and you decide on it, things will always work out. But if you let the you know, "Oh, I hesitated again. Oh, I sold early again. Like I Oh, I always do this." Then that's just going to keep coming. And so, you get to decide that. And again, that then becomes part of your identity, right? The brain loves continuity. So, if something's happened before, like it's going to assume it will happen again. It's going to do everything to have the same thing occur. So, why not start thinking of all the positive things? Start deciding that you can be who you want to be. I said I'm going to be like Sumesh. I did. I First of all, I said I'm going to be like those traders that interview with Sumesh. I did say that. I think I told you before, too. And guess where I am now? My second interview with you, right? And I never would have thought this was possible, right? If I didn't let go of what was yesterday and start taking control of my reality, like what I want to do and who I want to be. Stop letting other things define that. 100%. And I appreciate you, man. I appreciate you opening up. By the way, if anybody's [clears throat] listening, you want to get yourself to the next level, man, all I'm going to say is when you're in a small account, all you need to do is win once. Then you leverage that win. That's it. You take that 2,000 to 2,200 2,400, then you leverage keep leveraging the win. And that's the game. And if you want to take yourself to the next level, hey JTQ, that's the biggest testimony that you have. I appreciate you, bro. Check the link in the description box below and I promise you, hey, I'm the [ __ ] man that can help you get to the next level. So, let's make it happen. Um brother, I appreciate you. Next we're going to hop on again when you hit your seven figures. Let's go. Let's do it. I'm looking forward to it, man. Only thing standing between that and this is time. And I'm looking forward to hop on again, my brother. Let's make it happen. Thank you. >> man. Have a good one. Take care. >> See you later. Yeah. All right, that was JTQ, guys. Absolutely beautiful journey. Started with nothing. Get to live the life that he wants to live. Give the kids the life they, you know, they want to give. And it's just different feeling, bro. It's just different feeling when you come in from nothing when you when you when you've seen um your mom, your mother, um see mother you know, like he said, parents divorced when he was 9 months um growing up not not seeing having the father next to him and just still using that as a motivation because some people going to use it as a on a on you know, go on the wrong path. Um I know for a fact there's people out there like JTQ right now who like who feel defeated. Bro, I was the same, man. I promise you this. I came to you Australia um when I was 18 all by myself. Like literally, I have to had to figure it all out. I grew up in India. Um I had to figure everything out. I'm 26 now and I know that I look 35 because this is what trading does to you. It just makes you look old because every single tick is just hurting you in a way back in the day. Um so all I'm going to say is, man, you want to take yourself to the next level, I got you. Um check the link, the first link in the description box below and I'll see you inside. Let's make it happen. Peace.
